Work and learn in the countryside
The countryside is an endless source of enriching experiences, from contemplating the landscape to understanding what we gain from it
Take a trip to the countryside, the forests or mountains to enjoy nature, and you’re sure to feel more alive. What’s more, the sense of increased vitality we feel when in touch with nature isn’t limited to ourselves. Physical activity out in the open air gives everyone energy and naturally creates social interaction.
And we have a whole range of activities to get you out in the fresh air, such as horse-riding. An equestrian holiday is one of the most inspiring ways to get away from it all if you love animals. Interacting with the horses on a ride can really change the perspective of those who experience it. Explore many different locations in Málaga province on horseback and unbridle your passion for riding!
The most important thing to remember is that it doesn’t matter if you’ve never gone horse-riding before: we adapt the rides to all levels and ages; even children under 6 years old can ride a horse, accompanied by an adult.
But we also invite you to explore on foot with us. Discover the landscapes of southern Spain, breathe in fresh air, the smell of pine trees and fragrant Andalusian broom bushes… Feel how immersing yourself in nature nourishes your soul.
On this trip into the countryside, you’ll be accompanied by expert guides who will make stops at places of interest along the way, to tell you more about the area, the route, the local vegetation, fruit and wildlife.
As well as learning about the countryside, why not experience it more fully by working on the land? You could take part in:
- Collecting seasonal produce (wild mushrooms, asparagus, the Spanish oyster thistle, etc.), followed by a cookery class to learn how to make local dishes.
- Collecting medicinal plants and herbs, followed by a workshop on making hand-crafted soap and medicinal oils.
- RCollecting and treating Spanish esparto grass, followed by a basket-making workshop.
- Collecting dwarf fan palm leaves followed by a workshop on making palm brooms
- A visit to local allotments to collect produce, followed by a cookery class to learn how to make local dishes.
- A visit to an olive grove that is over a century old, to learn the techniques of olive collection.
- A visit to an oil mill, with an olive-oil tasting session or workshop to learn about the process of preparing olives for consumption (in season).
- Experiencing a day in the life of an Andalusian cowherd.
